The Tour This is a long tour, of appx 160km, that requires some previous experience of long rides on the bike. The tour will last between 10 and 12 hours including rest breaks – depending on the speed you want to ride at. We go at a speed to suit the group, therefore no-one gets left behind. It is not a race! |

| The Route The start point of the tour is Potsdamer Platz, where the 6 sections of the Berlin wall stand, outside the S-Bahn entrance. The departure time is between 06:00 and 07:00 and for a comfortable ride I allow 12 hours (although I have done it in 8 hours!) We take a clockwise route from Berlin, north through Mitte, Pankow, Glienicke – then west to Henningsdorf, south to Spandau and Kladow. From Kladow , it‘s over on the ferry to Wannsee, then south towards Potsdam. Then we turn east – to Teltow, Zehlendorf, Lichterfelde and Schoenefeld. Finally we head north through Schoneweide, Koepenick and back to the 'finish' at Potsdamer Platz - for some photographs and a well-earned drink. The ferry ride from Kladow to Wannsee not only gives a nice rest but also conveniently breaks the tour up into 2 fairly equal halves. The ferries run once per hour. |
